Parks

Open spaces, trails, wetlands and municipal parks of Dover have become woven into our resident’s regular life-patterns. They provide beauty, a chance to relax or view wildlife and the opportunity to socialize with your neighbors. A stroll along the trails or a relaxing day in the park renews and refreshes.

Planning and Zoning Commission

Are you interested in land use issues in Dover? Do you have feelings and thoughts about what Dover looks like now, and what you want it to look like in the future? Do you want to share your ideas with others?

The Dover Planning Commissioners invite you and your friends to come to the Planning & Zoning Commission and share your thoughts and opinions. Because speakers not listed on the agenda have limited speaking time, we encourage you to call 265-8339 to be placed on the agenda to present your ideas.

Building Inspections and Code enforcement

IDAHO CODE, TITLE 39, CHAPTER 41 IDAHO BUILDING CODE ACT, permit local government to adopt and enforce building codes. The City of Dover has adopted the International Building Code, the provisions of the Americans with disabilities act accessibility guidelines and the federal fair Housing Act accessibility guidelines; International Residential Code, parts I-IV and IX; and International Energy Conservation Code.

Permits

Due to the high volume of plan sets and construction paperwork, please understand we only accept project submittals that are complete.

Residential, commercial and industrial building permits are required within the City of Dover. Permit approval must be obtained PRIOR to beginning of construction. Permits are processed by the P&Z Department EXCEPT those issued by the State of Idaho

Below is a brief description of those permits which may have to be obtained for your project. It is not intended to be a comprehensive listing.
