The Dover Planning Commissioners invite you and your friends to come to the Planning & Zoning Commission and share your thoughts and opinions. Because speakers not listed on the agenda have limited speaking time, we encourage you to call 265-8339 to be placed on the agenda to present your ideas.
The Commission is currently reviewing the city's Comprehensive Plan for the physical development of the City as part of the state-mandated Periodic Review Process. The Commission recommends to the City Council the adoption, amendment, extension, addition to, and maintenance of the Comprehensive Plan as well as provides discretionary reviews and makes recommendations to the Council as provided by the Municipal Code over the subdivision of land, zoning and land use. They are the hearing board for applicants for zoning changes, special use permits and variances.

About the Commission
The Commission consists of a five member panel appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council. An appointed member of the commission must have resided in Bonner County for a minimum of 2 years prior to his/ her appointment and must remain a resident of the county during the entire term. The member must also be either a resident of the City of Dover or reside in the area of city impact for the City of Dover.
The members are all appointed by the Mayor to serve alternating four-year terms. The Commission elects one of its members to serve as chairman.
